Provide some basic medical history and book an appointment with a licensed marijuana doctor. The $199 fee includes your consultation fee, physician copay, and the medical evaluation for your recommendation.
Consult with a marijuana physician who will evaluate your ailments and answer any questions you have about medical marijuana treatment. This can be either online, through video, or in person, depending on where you live.
If you are approved for medical marijuana, you’ll receive your recommendation. Depending on your state, you will either be granted immediate access to dispensaries or wait to receive your card in the mail.
Although the Sunshine State’s legislative government has heard and considered many bills on medical cannabis in recent years, including SB 135 and SB 555, all of them have unfortunately died in the Senate. As a result, medical cannabis remains completely illegal in Kansas.
As for recreational cannabis use? “I think the issue of recreational marijuana is still not on the table,” Gov. Laura Kelly told an NBC news outlet.
While legislators have been mulling over the legality of medical cannabis, a statewide public opinion poll confirmed that residents of the Midwest would like to see some cannabis revenue in the region. More than 60% said they would support taxation on recreational weed sales to relieve the state budget.
For now, Kansas persists as one of only 19 remaining states that still punish cannabis possession with jail time. The legislative session for 2024 is over, so the issue cannot be considered again until 2025 at the earliest.
