Provide some basic medical history and book an appointment with a licensed marijuana doctor. The $199 fee includes your consultation fee, physician copay, and the medical evaluation for your recommendation.
Consult with a marijuana physician who will evaluate your ailments and answer any questions you have about medical marijuana treatment. This can be either online, through video, or in person, depending on where you live.
If you are approved for medical marijuana, you’ll receive your recommendation. Depending on your state, you will either be granted immediate access to dispensaries or wait to receive your card in the mail.
Although medical and recreational cannabis remains illegal in Nebraska, this could be changing very soon. The efforts of pro-cannabis activists in the state have finally paid off, and the Patient Protection Act and Medical Cannabis Regulation Act will be appearing on the ballot in the November 2024 election.
If the initiative passes, it will legalize possessing, manufacturing, distributing, and dispensing cannabis for medical purposes. It will also create the Nebraska Medical Cannabis Commission to run the program and ensure legal compliance by all parties.
Campaign Manager Crista Eggers spoke on the topic, stating: “After years of hard work, we are beyond excited that Nebraskans will finally have the opportunity to have their voices heard on this issue in November. Our fight has been long, it has been hard, but we have never given up. Today, we celebrate that very soon, patients in this state will have access to medical cannabis treatment. We want to thank all of the Nebraskans who dedicated countless hours and days of their lives to make this possible, and we look forward to the final certification by the Secretary of State in the coming days.”
