Missouri is so close to its first medical cannabis sales

and the US Supreme Court has dismissed a crucial cannabis legalization case

This is Lo with Veriheal keeping you up to date with the latest in cannabis news

Missouri is ever so close to seeing its first medical cannabis sales

The first wave of cannabis products are currently undergoing testing

Vertically integrated cannabis company BeLeaf in Earth City is the first state-approved cultivation site

and is expecting to receive its test results here very shortly

Testing is expected to take a little longer in the first round as the facility gets its equipment properly calibrated and good to go

And sales can be expected to happen very soon thereafter.

The spokesperson for the Missouri Medical Cannabis Trade Association indicated that while testing is currently underway, “when and where the first sales happen remains to be seen.”

But many in the industry believe it could be possible to see sales as early as this month!

So, Missouri patients… stay tuned!

Next in news, The US Supreme Court has dismissed a case for cannabis legalization

NFL player Marvin Washington and many medical cannabis patients filed a lawsuit against Attorney General Jeff Sessions back in 2017

The lawsuit argued that the Schedule 1 label for cannabis is unconstitutional and should be overturned.

Unfortunately, the case will be dismissed since the US Supreme Court has refused to hear it.

It was first dismissed in 2018 by district courts but got picked up by the Second Circuit Court.

Plaintiffs were given an opportunity to state their case directly to the DEA in an attempt to reschedule cannabis to a less restrictive classification

However, the plaintiffs declined and were ultimately dismissed by the Second Court,

And when they appealed to the Supreme Court, the case was refused.

Currently, there is another active suit that the DEA has failed to block and get dismissed

Why You Should Get Your Medical Marijuana Card

Veriheal has satisfied millions of patients nationwide by giving them access to these benefits

  • Larger purchase limits
  • Peace of mind
  • Enhanced legal protection
  • Access to higher potency strains
  • Save up to 25% on cannabis purchases
  • Skip the line at the dispensary

The case was filed by several scientists and veterans and it also challenges the Federal classification of cannabis

Hopefully, it will go through and we will finally see the beginning of the end of cannabis prohibition

But with the anti-cannabis nature of the Supreme Court and DEA, the jury is still out.

And lastly, Mexico is predicted to become the biggest legal cannabis market in THE WORLD

But the question is… who will reap the benefits?

Activists have maintained a large cannabis garden of around 1000 plants that’s currently on display in front of the nation’s Senate

Hundreds light up and smoke each day in the garden in protest as senators walk past to get to their building.

Two years ago, Mexico’s supreme court ruled the ban on cannabis as unconstitutional

And has set a deadline of December 15 for the Senate to come up with proper cannabis legislation.

As the deadline inches closer, debates on what legislation looks like have gotten heated.

Activists have declared their distaste for the legalization drafts citing that it’s more in favor of big business and not the best interest of consumers

Since the country is flirting with the idea of Seed to Sale where cannabis is heavily monitored from beginning to end

It’s speculated that it will ultimately push out any small business because of the insane costs required.

The US and Canada apparently have also had a lot of influence in shaping Mexico’s legislation that has left a bad taste in the mouths of many

Whatever happens, legalization is certain and it will possibly help reduce cartel violence and change the criminal landscape of the country

A survey showed that 50% of the country’s federal inmates were popped for drug crimes.

60% of those crimes being for cannabis possession.

The longer that legislation gets put off, the longer Mexican citizens are forced to live in a gray area

This means that they are still at risk for arrest or even paying bribes to crooked cops for possession.

We can’t wait to see what’s in store and are eager to welcome Mexico to the legal cannabis market.
