Researchers Find Decreased Youth Cannabis Use in Legalized States
According to the researchers of a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) on Tuesday, youth cannabis use does not increase in states that enact marijuana legalization. Though prohibitionists have traditionally used the concern of youth consumption as a deterrent from legalization, JAMA researchers found that the establishment of regulated cannabis models actually correlates with decreased marijuana use among adolescents. The study, which received partial funding through a federal National Institutes of Health grant, analyzed 26 years’ worth of data in 10 states.
The Missouri Cannabis Industry is Booming
In the midst of a labor shortage across the country, the Missouri cannabis industry has created more than 4,000 new jobs in less than a year. The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) has recently reported that the majority of licensed medical marijuana facilities are now approved to operate. According to MoCannTrade, analysts are expecting the sector to flourish further with the addition of several thousand more jobs throughout the next year of operation.
