Colorado has four types of caregivers: parents of a patient who is a minor, advisors, transporters, and cultivators. Once a patient is qualified in Colorado, they can add a caregiver to their account. Colorado makes it convenient for patients and caregivers to register together, simplifying the registration process.

The state has specific provisions for parents: parents and/or legal guardians of minor children listed as the ‘primary caregiver’ do not need to register in the Caregiver Registry unless they cultivate more than 36 plants for the patient. Additionally, caregivers growing fewer than 36 plants are encouraged to register their cultivation location at the Caregiver Registry, though it is not required.

Medical cannabis patients in Colorado may possess up to 2 oz of dry cannabis flower at a time. They may also purchase 2 oz of cannabis a day.

Adults aged 21 or older in Colorado may purchase up to 1 oz of cannabis or 28.5 grams of concentrate per day.

Any adult Colorado resident can grow up to six plants per person, with no more than three 3 of the plants in the flowering phase. No more than twelve (12) complete plants per residence are permitted.

If you’re a medical cannabis patient, you can qualify for an extended plant count in Colorado with documentation of need. Medical cannabis patients with an EPC in Colorado may grow up to 99 plants and purchase higher levels of flower, concentrate, and edibles. Cannabis plants must be kept out of sight in an enclosed area and are not legal for sale.

A medical marijuana card in Colorado is valid for one year.

Dr. was very kind and caring. Staff was wonderful at communicating and very helpful and helping me get over a hurdle which was not filing with the state first but I was able to do that and they got me right in the next day and I had my card the following morning and just received it in the mail so it took about 4 to 5 days. They were fantastic five stars from me.
